What is TRE?

TRE® or Trauma and Tension Release Exercises, is a somatic body-based practice for people with stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, (C)PTSD. It has been thoroughly successful and studied on veterans and athletes. A certified TRE practitioner oversees the session. It involves involuntary shaking/tremoring to release stored tension and trauma in the body.

TRE Benefits:

Stress Reduction: TRE can reduce cortisol levels (the stress hormone), helping individuals feel more relaxed and grounded. The tremoring process encourages deep relaxation, allowing the body to let go of pent-up stress and anxiety.
⦁ Enhanced Emotional Resilience: By releasing built-up tension, TRE can help individuals feel more emotionally balanced and resilient. This is especially beneficial for those who experience chronic stress or anxiety, as it provides a physical outlet for emotional processing.
⦁ Improved Physical Health: Many people experience physical tension and pain as a result of stress and trauma. TRE targets this tension, which may improve issues like chronic pain, headaches, and muscle stiffness. By allowing muscles to relax, TRE can also improve flexibility and posture.
⦁ Better Sleep Quality: By calming the nervous system and relieving stress, TRE often helps improve sleep patterns, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep.
⦁ Enhanced Recovery from Trauma: TRE can help individuals process and release trauma stored in the body. This is particularly helpful for those who have experienced intense emotional or physical trauma, such as veterans or survivors of accidents or abuse.
⦁ Greater Sense of Well-Being: Regular practice of TRE may lead to a deeper sense of peace, relaxation, and overall well-being, as it enables the body to naturally "reset" from the impacts of daily stressors.
